I didn't get the shirt completed for Festival (in fact I barely got much done at all). However, I did get some fighting shirts completed and I finished my woollen coat. One good thing about making the fighting shirts in lieu of making my embroidered shirt is that I have figured out a pattern. Yay!
So far I have almost finished the handsewing on one of the sleeves and when I have finished the second sleeve I will once again start the embroidery for the collar and cuffs. Oh by the way I chose pattern number 1 from the post below.
While making the shirt I have been thinking on the style of hat to make. I have found a hat I like but it is from 12 years later than the frock I want to make (the shape is ok for the time period just not the decoration). I can still embroider a hat with goldwork but for the period I am looking at they tended towards the more geometric designs and if I was to go with the hat below I would need to redesign the embroidery anyway because the original has roses.
